Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It’s time for another amazing year to start with new adventures, dreams and possibilities!! All of these could not or should I say would not be possible without my family, friends, clients and all of you faithful blog readers. I am very excited for what is in store in ‘09 and I can’t wait to share all of it with you!!

Thank you for all of the love out here (the comments you leave), the e-mails and messages I receive all year long. I am truly blessed with the most amazing clients. My love for photography would not be possible without you. Thank you to my dear husband, my best friend, for being the secretary (he will laugh at this b/c this is his title on all of our corporation papers…LOL), and helping us run a business. For keeping the family in tact when I am super swamped and or shooting a wedding all day on a Sat. Thank you to all of my friends who put up with my craziness and who are there for me through thick and thin (I love you all and thank you for all of your ears and shoulders this year!).

A post isn’t complete without an image. My little gal is turning 3 here in Jan and I just finished her invite so we could mail them out. I wanted to share b/c it’s so CUTE! Have a great evening. I hope you are surrounded by all of your favorite people!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Family

This is one of my favorite families! They are a family of 6 and full of energy. They live in CO and we took some amazing images last summer when I was out there but dad wasn’t there so we set up another shoot when they were here for Christmas (both their families are here in KC). We were supposed to have our session Monday but their plane got in very late so we moved it to Christmas Eve. My family was going to be down there so why not take a small break and capture these guys. They were colorful, almost all healthy (J, I hope the fllu has left you guys) and a blast to run around and capture. Union Station wasn’t busy so it was nice to have the space to play in.

“J”, it’s always good to see you! You brighten my day with your personality. I hope we can capture your family again next summer! We are going to visit friends again for another family vacation (a dude ranch is in this vacation!!) so I will let you know when the trip is planned.

Enjoy the sweet family!

Merry Christmas – little peek!

This morning my family and I went down to Union Station to see the trains and all the fun things Crown Center and Union have to offer at Christmas. To our dismay it was CLOSED! Well, Union Station was open but all the attractions (like the train my kiddos wanted to ride so badly) were closed. So we headed over to Crown Center instead. My hubby and kiddos went first b/c I had a session this morning (yes, on Christmas Eve and it was FUN!!). We were supposed to have our session Monday but their plane was delayed and they arrived in KC at 1:06 am! Since we were heading down to the Station anyway and I told them I would do their session on Wed instead since they were only here for a week. It worked out perfectly. The ticket counter was CLOSED so I didn’t have to pay the $75 fee they are charging photographers to shoot there now (not a fun thing if you are a photog and need a place with lots of light to shoot in the winter). The place was ours! We got some great images for them and I will post their sneak peek next week. For now enjoy this fun image. I added a little festivity to it since it’s Christmas.

Now this will be my last post until later next week. I am going to spend the next 4 days with my family and I can’t wait to see everyone. I have been on a little break this month so if you placed an order I will be getting to it next week. We are off to church here in a bit and then snuggling up to the fire with hot chocolate and family. Next week I will have a fun post to share too b/c my new brand is here. I can’t wait to share it with you. I will have a brand new look for 2009!!

Oh, and thank you to all of you who sent me your FUN Holiday cards this year and for all the gifts. You are sweet. You are why I love my job. You are why I do what I do. I am very blessed with a husband who helps me run my business and helps with our family so I can do what I love. I am blessed with WONDERFUL clients who are always making me feel special. Next week is the time for reflection on the year before we ring in 2009 but I want to thank all of you now b/c you are all VERY SPECIAL to me. Since I didn’t get around to sending out a Holiday card to my clients (there may be a New Years card with my new brand on it if I can find the time to make it… so sorry there aren’t enough hours in the day) I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. Thank you for YOU!!

Merry Christmas!!

Cookies and Christmas!

I LOVE this time of year! I also love friends this time of year. In Feb last year we moved into our new home (which I LOVE) and we moved into a GREAT community! I love our new neighbors. They have become some of our good friends in such a short time. They are simply amazing in so many ways. We have get togethers on Friday nights. We have play dates. We have gym friends (the ones we call all the time b/c we live at the gym now and talk them into going all the time). When the girls have girl time all the guys get together with the kiddos and play (it’s so CUTE!). When the guys get together the girls do the same but I can’t say that is cute b/c we do it all the time. We just have great neighbors/friends!! There is always someone around and I love that. Well, one of the gals had a cookie decorating party this morning. She is the best hostess and throws the best get togethers. She could be Martha Stewart and I am not kidding:). Anyway, I just want to say thank you for wonderful morning and a wonderful party!!

Another reason for this post is…. if you have kiddos there is a book called “The Elf on the Shelf”. I am buying this for my kiddos next year. It comes with a little elf and a story about the elf. You get to move the little guy all over your house b/c each night he makes a secret trip to the North Pole to talk to Santa and comes back in the morning and lands in a new place in your home. He does this each night until Christmas eve. What a great idea and what a great book. I learn so much from “T”. You all need to go out and get this book for next year!!

I hope you are all enjoying the Holiday’s as much as I am! What a wonderful time of year. If I don’t get back out here tomorrow have a Merry Christmas!!

Oh, I shot the party with my 50mm/1.2 L lens. I LOVE IT!! I have to say I think the love for my 85mm/1.2 L will never go away and it is the best lens I own and takes the most amazing pictures but I am going to fall deeply in love with this new lens (I can already tell). Like all the photogs out there say… it’s like butter and it really is.

She dipped Marshmellows in chocolate and put a candy cane for a little holder so we could dip them into our hot chocolate.. how cute is that??

Thank you, Santa!

I am in HEAVEN! My Christmas present came early. The box was to big for my stocking so I went ahead an opened it up (sorry honey) when the UPS gal came to my door today. I would have waited until Christmas to open it but I have a session Monday and I want to use my new 50mm/1.2 L lens. Thank you, Santa!

Oh, I sold my 50mm/1.8 lens for those of you who were interested. I never posted about it but sent an e-mail out. Thanks!!

Very cool! I asked Santa for a 50mm also. Though my budget will only allow for the 1.8 at this time. Have fun. Can’t wait to see the great pics you get with this.
