February 14th, 2008Happy Valentines Day!!

So today is one of those days where girls feel smitten and boys are supposed to bring the loves of their life little presents, flowers or sappy cards. Well, I got the sappy card (I LOVE IT, if you are reading honey), a great Valentines song (yes, my husband likes to call me several times a day and sing made up songs on holidays or sometimes on any day…. that is why I love him) and a NEW HOUSE!! Yes, I am writing this post to wish all of my readers out there a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY and to let you know this will be my last post for a while until internet is back up and running at our new house! We are the first house in our phase so they have to go out and survey the area to get it up and running. I talked to them again today and it could still be 5-7 more days! YIKES! I don’t know what I am going to do (my husband says… take a small break… a mini vacation…). Again, another reason I love him. With that said, I will be back soon! I will respond to e-mails soon. Please call me if, if it’s urgent (I sound like a doctor :) ….).

When I return I will have my little 5 yr old birthday party and an engagement session for you to view! I am leaving you with a post from my senior shoot last Sunday! ENJOY!

When my father in law dropped off his F-150 for us to use this coming weekend for our move, I sort of forgot I was picking up “W” for her senior pictures Sunday. The session was after church and my husband needed our other vehicle to take the kiddos home in, so I buckled up and drove to meet my new senior!

Walking briskly up to the door, to meet two people I have never met before and to let them know we all have to squeeze into a truck to drive downtown, I introduced myself and realized after the introduction we are going to have a GREAT session! Mom offered to drive (which I felt terrible about b/c I like to pick up my seniors and take them to our destinations!!) which was so sweet of her. “W’ was grabbing a quick bite to eat and then we headed off out into the bitter weather!

The weather may have been bitter, but “W” was stunning. Can you say “MODEL MATERIAL!” She was so beautiful and acted like we were on the beach taking these images. I was a little nervous at first b/c it was so cold (19 degrees outside) but these images are nothing short of art! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon! Thank you mom for driving. Thank you for putting up with my talking (if you know me I can talk your ear off!) and thanks for being so relaxed and comfortable with me to get these great images! Enjoy your slide show HERE and ALL the images I posted (I went a little over board…… there were so many good ones!!).

On a side note, it’s important to use a photographer who will make you feel at ease, make you feel like your friend and make you feel special on your day (whether it be a wedding, senior portrait or portrait session). Your images will be amazing if you are allowed to be yourself and be relaxed on your special day!

February 12th, 2008a SENIOR, a 5 yr old, a baby announcement and a fun valentine card

Things here have been pretty busy, but we like it that way!! I am posting two images from this past weekend b/c I am still working on their sneak peeks and proofs, a baby announcement for one of the sweet newborns I captured two weeks ago and a fun valentine card! Yes, Valentine’s Day is around the corner so don’t forget those gifts/cards!! The sneak peeks will be out soon! The cards are posted with the front of the card first and the back below it. They are fabulous press printed cards!!

On another note, we are moving this Friday so things will be a little hectic for a few days. Please be patient if I will get back to you, I promise:)).

I also have a laptop coming (so excited!!) which will allow my brides and grooms some slide show fun at their wedding receptions (more on this later!) and it will allow me to work on the go (I am not sure how excited I am about taking my work with me everywhere I go, but the flexibility will be so nice).

Stay tuned for more great images!! I have an engagement session coming up Monday after the big move!!

February 12th, 20081 yr old!

Sat I had the honor to capture this happy baby for her last baby package session. You might recognize her from previous posts as the “happy baby” b/c she is always smiling! She had her game on again Sat. The smiles were coming out like she had done this before (and she had!). She has been walking since she was 10 months old, so she was all over the place. I couldn’t make it to her birthday party to capture it so mom and dad bought another little cake to get those fun all over the face cake pictures (check out the slide show for the cake images). Below are a few of my favorites! It was so hard to choose. We captured so many great images. Thank you again for another fantastic session. I will see you this summer for little “A”s 18 mth session. I love babies! I love capturing babies. I love how you can show up and just lay them anywhere (well anywhere with lots of light) and they do what they do best… lay there. Most baby sessions are this way. On occasion there will be a fussy baby but we all know how to calm a fussy baby….. food:)! On Thursday I I had a a baby session. I captured this little guy for the first time. He was so handsome at his young age. We captured a lot of expressions too! He was so good and we had a great time capturing who he is right now. Thank you guys for allowing me in your BEAUTIFUL home to take his first images. I snapped a few of big sister too and posted one of her at the window with the sun. It was just one of those moments…..
