Family

Another family I had the opportunity to meet this weekend was the “L” family. Again they were another great group of people I got to work with. The kids had a blast. They wanted me to keep taking pictures even when we were done and heading back to our cars. They kept saying “please just one more?”. Now, I know some of you photogs out there are saying… what? who are these people?? kids who want their picture taken??? Yes, we had so much fun running around, finding little spots to take pictures in the kids just wanted to keep on going! If I would have had all day and mom didn’t have an appt to be at for lunch we probably would have kept shooting.

Thank you guys for being so great to work with. The kids were a blast! I wish all my kids wanted their pictures taken like this. Maybe they could give lessons:). It probably helped that I was being my crazy self running all over like a kid and they just wanted to join me!!

Again, another reason I love my job… I get to run all over like a kid!! Enjoy your images and sneak peek slide show HERE!

8 mths old

This weekend I also had the opportunity to capture little “Q” again. He is 8 mths old now and part of my babies first year package. He wasn’t all smiles this time like his last session. We had to work at a few of them and he gave me some great looks too. I think he was a little tired, so we did the best we could in the time we had before he was done. He was still a trooper and so were mom and dad. There were still way to many for me to choose from and to narrow down (always a good thing!). I just love this family. They always make me feel at home when I am with them. They are good people and I feel very blessed to be a part of little “Q’s” first year.

Enjoy your images! Thank you for another great session. Your slide show is HERE!!

I still have 4 more sessions to post from this weekend. My hubby is home this week so I am getting a lot of work done! Thank you for waiting on your sneak peeks. They will be out soon!

I love this look… he is wondering why the camera is still in his face…

Engaged

This weekend I also had the opportunity to shoot this amazing couple. I will be doing their wedding in May and I am very excited b/c they are so easy to be with! Their dog even came along for the pictures (if you bring your pets be sure to have someone else along to help with them). “A’s” mom was there to help out with “K”! Thanks for keeping him out of trouble.

These two were so great to be around. They were so easy and easy going about doing whatever I asked. They are renting a trolley and we spotted one while driving to our second location…. I pulled over, made them get out and we snapped a few pictures while the wedding party using the Trolley was off at the Nelson taking their photos. We even got a street image with the Trolley in the background between them (fun!). We spent some time at the Art Institute eating up all the great light there (that place rocks with great light) and then we headed over to Loose Park for a few images in the Rose Garden b/c that is where they are getting married!! I am very excited about the time of day they will marry b/c it’s in the evening and the light will be so great (do I talk about light a lot… if I do it’s b/c it’s very important for great photos… so bare with me). Our images this time were in the bright sun which is hard to do (it can be done…but hard to master) so I am so excited about their evening wedding.

Thank you guys for a great engagement session! I can’t wait for MAY! Enjoy your slide show HERE!

I am doing their guest book which will be a soft bound, leather cover book hinged with tear proof material so the guests will be able to write on the pages. Once it’s complete I will take a picture of it so you can all see it.

before and after

Okay, I had a comment the other day that said… will you post a before and after image for me. SURE! I love to share! I am super busy this week (when am I not busy!?!?!) so this will be quick… here is an image straight from camera and then with a little post processing. I sharpen a bit, I add a little contrast to pop the color a bit and walla…. you have the after image. I don’t spend a lot of time on each image. I do spend time on images that come out a little darker than others and need more work. I use actions on some of my images (not all of them). I have my own and I have purchased some from other photographers. The KEY to a faster work flow is……. get the image right straight from camera. Shoot MANUAL so your lighting will be the same AND make sure you know your light and where to place your subjects. You can play with light, that is the great thing about natural light. There is a lot of it so go out there and play! Also, know your camera. I have mine set to work for me. I use most of the standard settings. I will over expose a little if we have an over cast day or if the light just isn’t right where I am trying to shoot. I will also over expose a little when in dark shade.

I hope this helps! I love comments! Keep leaving them. I love your e-mails too so keep those coming, as well. I try to answer in a timely manner, so if you don’t receive a response from me… you will!!

Senior Year 2008

On Friday I had the pleasure of meeting “K” and part of her family. We had a great session down in the City Market. I just love that place! “K” was beautiful! We even snapped a few with sis too and she was just as beautiful. They were up for anything so we walked the market and found all the great spots. We were blessed with great weather and lots of sunshine. There were a few clouds in the air and we would wait for Mr. Sun to hide behind one of them and then we would go into a spot that was full sun and try to take a few shots until he popped back out. That was just one of the many ways we took the images on Friday! Thanks for being a trooper and doing everything I asked. Your images are AMAZING! ENJOY and I had so much fun with you guys…. your sneak peek slide show is HERE!
