family

Last week I also captured this family. We met at Antioch Park, had great weather (besides the humidity) and captured some great images! We go to the same church and “E” and I have been singing in the band together for almost two years and it was fun to see a different side of him and hang out for a bit. I am going to put a plug in for our church now, if any of you are searching for a great church! Heartland Community Church is the place we attend. We actually had a meeting last night b/c we are moving in a year (to the old Rhodes building). At the meeting we were to write down names of people to pray for to help pioneer this move and start a service in Aug this year (before the big move)… to make a long story short I just felt I needed to put a little something here about this b/c if any of you readers out there are searching for a great place to connect with God and friends… this place is for you! Check it out! You will never want to leave. It’s a fun place to be and the people are fantastic!

Okay, family back to you! Thank you for meeting me last week. It was good to hang out with your family and capture them. I am so blessed to know you! Enjoy the images and slide show HERE!

Oh, I have some fun news to share too so stay tuned for the news!! Post coming soon………

What fun to climb all over dad!!

8 months old!

Ahhhh, don’t you just love them when they are this little? This little guy was visiting from Hays, KS last week. He was here to see an eye doctor, so we squeezed in a photo shoot too! He has a bad tear duct that will be fixed but that didn’t stop him from showin us his stuff. He wasn’t all smiles but he was on the move. He really liked the mulch and anything else he could put in his mouth (every 8mth old likes to test everything out!!).

It was so nice to meet you guys! Thank you for a great session. Enjoy the images and slide show HERE!

family

Last weekend I captured these families in Wichita, KS! They are special to me b/c they are family. My Aunt “J” is my mom’s sister and I could easily be her daughter (check out the resemblance for those of you who know me on the slide show…. scary, huh?). The story is interesting b/c we were supposed to shoot here in KC and then some of the little ones got sick during the week so it worked out better for me to go to them. As I am driving there are storms everywhere (I am from the Midwest so I am used to these tornados and ugly storms). I turn on the radio and they say there is a tornado on the ground 30 miles from where I am, so I am thinking to myself… am I crazy… do I keep driving?…. are we even going to get the images taken? Well, we had to get them done b/c the engagement session I posted recently had to happen since I was doing their invitations for them. Storm or no storm we were going to make these happen, so I just keep praying!!

I keep driving, reach my destination and see blue sky ahead and black sky behind me…. luckily the storm was moving away from us and the blue sky was coming near us… AMEN! The ground was wet, but we still managed to get all the pictures taken. When I got there the rain stopped (an answer to prayer), I wasn’t hit by a tornado and I got to hang out with my family for a little while.

Thank you guys for a great session! It was so good to see you. I will see you all again in a couple months for the wedding! Enjoy your images and slide show HERE!

Engaged!

These two met in Denver while “M” was there for a sports camp. He saw her again from across the room and recognized her from college. They both went to Wyoming for school and met up again after all these years. Well, the rest is history! They are getting married in a couple months. I will be flying to Wyoming in Aug to shoot their wedding and I am so excited to capture this time for them. My cousin has been through so much in the past few months. He had another stroke in his short 30 years of life (he had his first one 7 years ago). They don’t know why he had another one but it shut his entire left side of his body down for a while. He went to Mayo and they still don’t have answers. We are just praying God takes care of him and brings answers soon! He was able to make the trip for the pictures and we felt very blessed for this. I made their wedding invitations and RSVP cards, so we are very thankful he was able to make it here b/c there images are all over the invites and card (they are very cool… I love it when people go outside the box for things!).

While in town his sisters and parents came along and we captured all of their families too! Those sessions are coming up. My cousin Shalee Lehning (for all you K-State basketball fans out there) was able to make it for some pictures too! She has her picture on posters and all over TV for her ability to play some good ball, but this time we captured her without her gear on!

Enjoy the images and slide show HERE!!. We had so much fun with this session down in Wichita, KS. After the session was over “M” says to me… I have been dreading this for months (he is a typical guy who doesn’t like to get his pix taken) and this was so FUN! It went so fast and you made it so easy. He then asks me where I get all my ideas of all the crazy things I ask them to do?? I don’t plan things, I just show up and see what I have to work with and just go with it! I have a general idea of what I want my clients to do and if I have been to the place before I have an idea of lighting and where to go for the best shots. But this was a first time for me in Wichita, so I just had to go with what was there and it worked out great!!
