Free to Succeed was the name of THE seminar I attended last night. Two photographers whom I admire, aspire to be like (no, I don’t want to be them I just want to work smart like they do b/c as I learned last night I am me and there is no one else like me… some of you are saying amen to that right now…:) ) and who are amazing Christians living out their faith in their work. David Jay and Jasmine Star are the photographers I admire. They are determined and are amazing at what they do. In life what do we want (or maybe I should say what do I want)…to succeed, be ahead of the game and be better BUT we don’t want to do it and let our life fall short. To many people work themselves into the ground. In some small way we are all there. I know I wish there were more hours in the day so I could play with my kiddos more, love my husband more and yes, I will say it take more pictures and edit them! I know I like my days to start out where I can be in the word, be with my family and just be me. I love sharing life with people, capturing moments in time and just living. That is the reason I do what I do. I love emotion. I LOVE life and I love what I can do through emotions in life. Where would we be if we didn’t have pictures to remind us of where we were or for that matter where we are heading!

In short (b/c I can talk and talk and write and write it all down) I went to this seminar to learn how to better my business. I love taking pictures and I will never stop doing that BUT there is a business side to what I do and I need to work smart so my life stays happy and healthy with God, my family and my friends. I love and need all of those things in my life and without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

SO (there is a point to this post, I promise) there will be some changes taking place in the future. I say future b/c I am booked solid until 2009 and I have already started booking for early 2009. I will be taking some time off for little ol me and all the things I mentioned above in Dec and Jan. During that time the big changes will occur. You may see a few small changes here or there this fall, so please at anytime if you have questions call me or e-mail me. I love hearing from you (the best way is through comments on this blog but some of you haven’t figured that out yet… I still get e-mails which is okay but you can always comment here!!).

AND NO, I am not moving to Colorado b/c I can feel that e-mail coming. I am not going to stop taking pictures. I am going to make some changes to the business and those changes will be good! Hey, change is good. If we stayed where we were all the time it would get boring and I am not a boring person so from here on out you will have to keep reading the blog and checking the website b/c change will happen and you don’t want to miss out on it:)!

I do have to end with what I always say: I love what I do. I love all of you who support me in what I do. I am blessed. I am blessed in so many ways. I thank God for the talent he has given me and for putting all of you in my life!!

Fall…….. here you come and I am welcoming you with open arms. If I blog less this fall (more than likely that will not happen) it’s b/c my fall is insanely crazy with weddings and portraits…. BUT I LOVE IT!
