another adorable 1 year old!

You just know when you meet someone and you fall for them. Well how can you not fall for this little guy??? You have seen him here before several times and now our time is coming to an end (our baby package time:)!). He is one! He is in love with his tongue too. It was out most of the session but he is so cute it doesn’t matter that it showed up in most of his pix!

This is another one of my favorite families. They are great people and if it wasn’t for “E” and his Runner’s Edge program here in KC I may not have met my husband. We met 6 years ago training for the Boston Marathon and the rest is history (yes, we both ran it back in 2003 and hope to do it again someday when the kids are older!!). So, these people are special! They are great friends too and it’s always a pleasure to be around them. If you are a runner and need to stay in shape, get back in shape or want to train with some fun people for your next big race you need to check out his group. It’s a lot of fun (link above)!!

Thank you guys for a great session. I will see you in Oct when your little gal turns 4! Enjoy your slide show HERE!

mother + daughter

This was my last home town session. This is a dear friend of mine. We go WAY back. To the days of laying out in our backyards to catch rays of sun, running track on the high school varsity team when we were only freshman in junior high, college days, lots of laughter and tears and now we are all grown up and have families of our own. Life sure goes by fast but when you have good friends to share it with it makes it that much better!

Little “R” was all smiles this summer. She was all smiles last summer but she was ready to have some fun this year and that we did. She was so great and we got some great images. I can’t wait to make you a fun, bold & colorful Christmas card!! Thanks for hanging out while I was back home. I am thankful for you and your friendship. You truly are a blessing in my life….

Enjoy your images and slide show HERE!!

brother and sister – a little peek!

Last night I spent an hour with these two downtown (my favorite place to shoot!) and WOW we got some great stuff. I had to post a little peek for mom since it will be a little while before I get their entire sneak peek out. Enjoy! These two are just kids too…can you believe it?!?!? I had to keep reminding myself they weren’t seniors:)! Just wait until their senior years (a few years from now). I can’t wait to see how much they change…. they are beautiful! I think I have another baby sitter too (I love my job for this reason too… I find GREAT sitters!!).

family

Here is another family I adore! “K” and I ran track and cross country together in collage and were roommates! Now she is a mom of four and is married to a friend I went to high school with. What a small world. It was so good to see you guys again. I wish I came back home more often. I will say my famous words “if only we lived closer”…. We had a great session in their friends backyard. And what a backyard it was. They live ion a lake. Have a dock and lots of sand! When I saw the sand my wheels started turning and I thought we were on a beach for a moment. And what do you do when you are on a beach?? You write your name in the sand so we did just that. We wrote their family name and took a fun picture of them with it. Now, I wish I could bring the sand back to KC:)!

Thank you guys for a fantastic session. Enjoy your slide show HERE!

family

While back home I had the honor to meet this wonderful family. Come to find out as our session progressed (in 102 heat!) they are from here! They have been in GB for about 10 years now, so it’s home for them but what a small world. I am a small town girl. I have a small town heart and I think in my own home I live in a small town world…:)… until I leave the house and get in my car and realize I don’t live in a small town anymore! For those of you who know me you can just laugh at my last sentence:)! Anyway, we had a great session. As great as it can get when it’s an oven outside:)! They were troopers, had smiles on the entire time and as you can see from the pictures I had my work cut out for me with 4 little ones… who found two baby bunnies and had to climb the rock mountain to check them out. If the top of the mountain would have been big enough we could have done our entire session up there b/c the bunnies were all the entertainment these kids needed for the afternoon. They were mesmerized by them. SO you can see the image of them looking over the bridge… I told them there were fish in the little puddle underneath which took them away from the bunnies for a while. They soon realized there weren’t any fish (b/c fish can’t swim in a puddle) and they were back up the mountain to check out the bunnies.

I love my job! It was nice to meet you guys. Thank you for a great session. Enjoy your slide show HERE!

On another note: we are back from Florida. It was AMAZING! Now, before I go any further…. It was AMAZING BUT it was so humid there! I kept asking myself every morning after my 3 mile run (yes, on vacation my husband and I LOVE to run, run and run some more b/c we don’t get to do it that often together with 2 kids) if I was still alive. The heat and humidity could really do someone in out there. I am not going to say another bad thing about it b/c we were pampered beyond pampered for 4 days and came back RESTED and RELAXED…..it was just what the doctor ordered. My parents had the kids for 6 days too and they didn’t want to come home. They had so much fun and so did we so it was a great way to end the summer (school starts next week and we are back to a routine again…ugh). Oh, one last thing… I don’t have any pix to post BECAUSE my hubby was in charge of grabbing the charger before we headed out the door (to board a PRIVATE JET.. yes, I could go on but it would make you all jealous b/c we had the best weekend EVER… can I just say I hate to fly but when you get to avoid airports it makes the trip that much better!) and he grabbed the wrong one! SO we have one picture of us in our hotel room and none of the beautiful places we saw…. you will have to imagine palm trees, plants that we grow in our homes that grow outside there (maybe b/c of the humidity that makes you feel wet all the time!) and ice blue water….. it was a great time.

Now we are back to work. Fall is in the air and things will get really busy around here but we love it! I have a plethora of sessions to post so stay tuned and thanks for all your patience these past couple weeks on your images… they will be well worth the wait!
