2 cuties!!

I had the opportunity to work with these little guys again this year (I love seeing clients over and over!!). We headed to the park in their neighborhood and lets just say I might have to visit this park again! I am def going to use it in Oct for a wedding I am shooting b/c their church is right down the street on Ward Parkway (can’t wait for this one!!). Anyway, we played and we watched bull dozers (thank goodness for the dozers b/c these two DID NOT want their pix taken). We were all kids once. We all were at the stage of not wanting our pix taken. I have two of my own and they don’t like their pictures taken either. So this is where I come in… I am the fun, the laughter (with moms help turning me into a bunny and any other animal we could think of to make them smile) and whatever you want me to be at your shoot! For those of you who know me you know how silly I can get. Well I had to pull out all my silliness this past weekend and it worked!! We managed to get some great images for mom and dad.

Thank you guys for another great session!! Enjoy some of my favs below and your slide show will be in your inbox soon.

Oh, I also want to thank all of you who send me kind notes, mail me thank you letters and send me gifts. You are all so sweet and to kind. It makes my heart happy that you love your images as much as I enjoy capturing them for you. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have the best clients in KC!!

1 year old!

Its early on a weekday morning. I am driving to a session to meet a family for the first time (or at least this is what I think is going to happen). I drive into the park. Park my car and the family arrives. Mom and Dad brought Grandma and Grandpa along since they were in town for the holiday weekend. I am in shock! Grandpa was my grade school P.E. teacher!! Yes, it is a small world. A very small world.

Another photographer here in town was having a medical issue and asked me to help her out with this session since she couldn’t take their pictures, so I took the session off her plate. It was exciting b/c it brought back old memories of running around the gym playing dodge ball as a kid (funny that is a vivid memory for me.. dodge ball!!).

Anyway, we had a great session. His sons little girl was turning one and was on the move. Once again I ran all over the park with her, captured her as she is right now and even got some cake pictures! They brought along her cupcake and let her dive in and it was so cute.

Thank you guys for a wonderful session. Enjoy some of my favorite images from the session and it was nice to see you some of you again and meet the rest of you for the first time.

days old

This little gal is special. She is special b/c her mom and I go way back. All the way back to kindergarten!! I love good friends and I love capturing life for them. These guys live up near Liberty and just welcomed a little girl to their family. She is CUTE, has a FULL head of hair. She was so good too. She never cried. She was the perfect little model and our session lasted 2 hours! She slept the entire time except when her little eye would pop open every now and then and we captured some great shots of her.

Thank you guys for a great session! Enjoy a few of my favs from our session. Your slide show will be out soon. I will see you in Dec when she is 4 months old!!

family

I just love this family. This is the second time we have done pictures and they are so much fun to be with. The kids have personalities of their own and I love that. I had my work cut out for me but that is the way I love to work. I love it when kids explore, run all over and check out their surroundings and I get to chase after them with my camera. It is what makes a kid a kid and it’s what makes my job so great. To capture them as they are doing what they love (being kids).

Thank you for running all over with me. Thank you for checking out the “fish”, for playing hide and seek with the leaves on the trees, for checking out the frogs on the lily pad, for holding your sisters hand when crossing the bridge and kissing her every now and then. Thank you for playing in the grass and stopping to look at the camera every now and then for a family pic and THANK YOU for a wonderful time. I can’t wait to design a Christmas card this year with all the colors in your clothes.

TIP: for those of you wondering what to wear to your next session…. come in what makes you comfortable, come as you are, come in bright colors and fun outfits b/c you want to remember you as you are now. Be true to YOUR style. I love simple and classy too, but color is by far my favorite in clothes. AND this fall don’t forget the fun hats to throw on when our session is almost done. Hats and accessories can add to an outfit too!

Enjoy your sneak peek of my favorite images from the session. Your slide show will be in your inbox soon!

weather & a fun print size!!

So our weather decided to take a drastic turn. Yesterday we made a water slide in our backyard with our swing set, hose and our dogs pool. The kids sure dream up fun stuff to do! AND today we we had to put on jeans and sweaters… you gotta love Kansas weather. I posted an image of the kids splashing into the pool. They had hours of fun doing this. I am sad our summer is ending. I love change, don’t get me wrong but weather change is hard. I love summer. I love the sunshine and dreary days like today remind me that shorter days are near and colder weather is too. I remind myself that it’s only a season and before we know it those long summer days will return!

On another note the UPS woman was at my house today and that always puts a smile on my face especially when there is an image for me and my family. A fabulous 15×30 came today and I posted it b/c it’s the coolest size (it’s up against a door so you can see the true size of it). I love big images! Enjoy!
