It was warm and muggy. There were smiles all around. It’s summer and someone turned one! You have seen him before and now he is almost walking and just had a big birthday. Happy little Evan was the little guy in the spotlight this weekend. His big sister was all about the camera too. She was very inquisitive during our session and wanted to be my best friend. I love sessions with this family b/c every time I see them they are just a joy to hang out with and the little ones love hanging out with me too (makes my job easier). I am sad I won’t get to see them as often but they will have these great images until our next session. Thank you guys for hanging out with me Sat morning. July 13th, 2009my dad | 60 years
My dad. The kindest most generous person I know. He would take his shirt off for anyone and has the biggest heart. Over the 4th of July weekend he turned the big 60!! My brother, sister and I planned this surprise party for him and it was a success. He had no idea that 60 people were going to be at the bbq he thought he was attending. He was completely shocked and we pulled it off.
The story – my cousin (Shalee Lehning) was drafted this spring into the WNBA (Atlanta Dream). Well, she was playing that evening at 6:30 (my dad watches every game). If they aren’t on TV he watches her on the computer. He wasn’t going to miss the game. As you can see with his T-shirt, he thought he was coming to watch the game and have a bbq with my uncle and brother. My uncle calls him up and invites him over for dinner. My sister in law with her little ones distracts him in the afternoon at the water park with all the grandkids. All of his sisters (4 of them) fly or drive in and all of my moms sisters (3 of them) and her brother (where the party was) arrive throughout the afternoon. We do the same. All of his friends arrive just as the party begins and my dad shows up and is SURPRISED!!
I love you, dad. I love who you are. I love how you take care of everyone. If there is one person I would want to be like when I grow up it’s you. Thank you for all you do and for who you are.
Enjoy! Can you see who I get my good looks from – he is one handsome dude! That is my grandpa in the background – he is 87 and still driving!

July 11th, 2009Family | Murphy is one!
Last week I had the opportunity to meet this wonderful family and their little girl, Murphy. They bid on a session I donated to Caden’s Cause and won! Caden is a little boy I captured a little over a year ago with Autism and there was a fundraiser for him and I donated one of my sessions to help support the cause.
We had a great session and they were just neat people all around. When you have a little one you have to move fast and they were so good at moving at my fast pace to capture sweet little Murphy. Little ones only give you so much time to work with and they were just up for anything (I love that!!). Thank you guys for a great time!! July 9th, 2009Austin | ONE!!
You have seen the happy baby out here many times. We had our last grow with me plan session last week and he was on the move. He has been walking since he was 9 mths old. Funny story – we just finished up his 8 mth session and mom came by to pick up her order a few weeks later (he was with her) and he was walking!! I love how all babies are different and unique in their own sweet way and this guy was just so fun to watch grow during his first year. These sessions are always bitter sweet for me.
Last week we met at a park in the evening (best time to shoot in the summer – yummy light!!) and walked all over letting the little man do his thing while my camera captured it! I am going miss seeing this little guy as much as I have seen him over this past year. He was always such a happy baby. Thank you guys for another WONDERFUL session. Enjoy a few of my favorites and a few more HERE in your sneak peek slide show.
