Family | downtown session

What do you get when you put 3 kiddos, a mom and a dad together? A family!! This family was so great to shoot. It can be tough when there are three little ones but these guys were troopers. When I was off shooting one of the kids mom and dad were making sure the other two were happy! They brought snacks which are great bribes for little ones. They were up for anything and I love that. Downtown isn’t the cleanest place to capture life but I love the colors, buildings and the look down there. Hands can be cleaned. Clothes can be washed and these guys had that attitude so it made for a great session (thank you for running with my ideas and being felxible!).

Enjoy a few of my favorites!!

2 years old

I just adore this family. I have captured them now for a couple years and every time we get together it’s like no time has passed. The week leading up to the session when I talk to mom on the phone it’s like we are old friends that haven’t missed a beat. I just love that! I also love how their little gal and I have a great time every time we are together. And her smile is contagious!

The best sessions are the ones where the kiddos are in charge (with a little direction). I love their little looks, their interest in the littlest or biggest (trains) things around us. I love how they want to become your best friend in a matter of min and be where you are and follow you every where. These are just a few of the reasons I love capturing little kids. “A” was so cute and so into what we were doing. If I didn’t know she was two, I would have thought she was a lot older. She was a very good listener and did what she was told (another key point to a successful shoot with a toddler – let the photographer interact and hang out with the little ones while mom and dad (or adults along for the session) hang out in the background). Thank you guys for doing just this and allowing me to capture your little girl again.

I can’t wait for this summer to start our grow with me plan with the newest addition to your family! Thank you for another wonderful session. Enjoy a few of my favorites below.

Family and 1 year!

It was another BEAUTIFUL day here in Kansas. Yes, we were spoiled two weekends in a row with unseasonably warm weather. If only it would stay. Today we had LARGE snowflakes falling!! On the beautiful day I met this family downtown for a family shoot and to capture their little girl celebrating one year of life! It was a great session. The boys were boys… running all over checking out the non Johnson County world (I love that!). The little gal was picking up EVERYTHING in site and trying to eat it. You know the stuff little one year old babies do. And mom and dad were trying to keep it all under control. This is why I love my job. I get to run all over and capture all of this happening while trying to get a family picture in between (and that we did!!). We had dad take the boys off every now and then to see the workers (the boys made a few cents for helping too!) and the train tracks so we could get the little gal without her brothers loving all over her (they were BIG helpers!). After the hour of chasing, running and hanging out downtown here are a few of my favorite images. There are a few more so CLICK HERE to see the rest!!

Thank you guys for a great session!!

Family & 1 year!

My last session in our BEAUTIFUL weather in Jan Sat. Their last session with little “W”’s grow with me plan. AND it was a success! Despite our 75 mile an hour wind (well, not that fast but almost that fast) and little “W” not quite ready for me when I got there we captured some great moments. The little guy was not quite sure of his bare feet touching the ground (maybe he knows it’s really Jan and we don’t have weather like this in Jan) or sitting on the ground either but once we walked their beautiful land he started to warm up. Mom wanted to get some fun overall images (tradition) so we went inside and did a little bribery with gold fish from big sister and the smiles and looks came out. He had fun with me once he was in his playroom. He was walking himself around tables and furniture to get the fish we were placing all over for him and he thought I was the funniest thing (I am sure I looked funny laying on the ground playing peek a book, but you have to do what you have to do.. to get a few grins!

Thank you guys for another great session! Enjoy a few of my favorites and a few more HERE!

Oh, and guess what a little birdie told me… we are going to have unseasonal weather again this Sat (another 65 degree day and I guess 70 on Friday… and it was 27 today.. you have to love Kansas weather). God really is good. I think he knows I have more sessions coming up and that I LOVE being outside. I have two sessions downtown Sat and I can’t wait to capture you guys! Be on the lookout for more fun stuff…..

Family and 1 year!

They walked up and again I knew the day was going to continue to get better! If you know me I love it when families show up as they are and this family showed up as they were (and I didn’t even know it until little “M” told me). You have to love kids and their honesty. Despite the fact they had hands down great outfits (way to go mom) they were all sick (and had spent the previous day at the doc getting meds for everyone, but dad). No, I don’t expect you to show up at your session sick (my hope is you would call and we reschedule) but this mom understands what having a winter baby means. It means we may have to reschedule a session (that happened b/c of COLD weather and a little snow the previous weekend), it means you never know what kind of weather you will get in Jan so when we heard it was going to be 68…sick or not sick they showed up. AND let me tell you if I wouldn’t have mentioned here they were all sick you would never have guessed it! I think having the trains near by helped b/c the kiddos were all excited every time one went by….

Again, if you know me I can move quickly if we need to and this session was done in record time b/c when you have kids they only last for so long anyway and then they don’t feel 100% they have an even shorter time frame. SO we made our way up and down the street and WALLA… here are the FABULOUS images. Well, a sneak peek b/c I am having a hard time narrowing them down.

This little guy turned one and he is such a cutie pie! Big sister and big brother took good care of him too and were super duper good listeners, as well. You have seen them before b/c they are a part of my grow with me plan and we will see them again this summer! I am excited already for our session. Now, if you are a part of the grow with me plan and you want a family session at one of the sessions just let me know and I will give you the pricing!

Thank you guys for a FANTASTIC session. Enjoy a few more HERE!
