Another CO session!

This is another girl that makes me smile. I met “J” in college. We were in the same sorority and became friends instantly. She can always bring a smile to your face and make you laugh. Now she is married and lives in CO with her 4 children and her hubby! They have a nanny who is super sweet too. She came along for the photo shoot and I even captured an image with her and the 4 kids (watch the slide show).

We met at the same cute little town outside of Red Rocks for the start of our images. Then we headed into the mountains for the rest and a little blue cow eatery for ice cream at the end! We had great light and just a beautiful day. The kids did such a great job and I even got all of them looking at one point with smiles on their faces (all of you photogs out there know how hard it is to get a 5,4,3 and 6 month old to look at the same time and smile… I had to be extra silly for this session!).

Thank you guys for a great session! I will see you when you come back to KC in Dec for your family session. Enjoy your images and slide show HERE!

14 months old in CO!

I just love this gal and her little girl. “J” and I go way back to college days when she played softball and I ran track and we met just doors down in our dorm. We have been friends ever since! Now she is a dentist in CO for kiddos along with her hubby. She would like to come back to KC and start a practice someday so when they decide to come back here we will just give them our house and we can take theirs b/c my husband is DYING to move back to CO someday. He told me he wanted to put us on a 5 year plan to get there when we came back from vacation (every time we go there he says the same thing when we come back so don’t get scared… I am not leaving… just visiting the beautiful state). BUT, if I ever live there people better watch out b/c the place is amazing and oh the pictures I could take there…… we won’t go there. I was only allowed to do a few sessions when I was there (we were on vacation and my camera was supposed to take a little vacation too!).

We had a great session. We met in this little town and then headed up to Red Rocks for the end of our session. I am not from there so I had to find a place that would accommodate two sessions one of the mornings we were out there and this was middle ground. I just said a prayer on my way to the session and it worked! The little town had all this character, vintage benches and stores. It was perfect! The light out there is perfect too and so was little “L”. She was so happy and we had so much fun together. She was such a good listener and we ran around the little town (when I say little it was literally a street long and so cute) and then took some pictures on a few rocks for daddy.

Thank you for a great session. I will be back and we will have to capture her again! I love you guys. It was so good to see you. Enjoy your sneak peek and slide show here!

For all you photogs out there I shot this entire session with my 85mm/1.2 lens on 1.2 the ENTIRE TIME (except when mom joined the images then I shot 4.0 with the two of them). I love the results. There are images here that have NO photoshop done to them whatsoever!! (besides the sharpening I do for web). I LOVE this lens! LOVE, LOVE prime lenses….

The 4th and a few sneak peeks

As you might have noticed I have not been blogging much lately. You know me I am usually posting like crazy but things around our home took an unexpected turn of events with my hubby going into the hospital for a few days. I was by his side almost the entire time and that required lots of help from our wonderful family and friends with our kiddos (thank you all again for who you are… we have the best family and friends in the world!!). We are still unsure when the stone will pass and he is still in pain, but not in the hospital anymore. He is home and I can play nurse now. Hopefully everything will pass soon and he can have his stint removed and get back to life. Keep praying!!

Here are some fun images from our 4th of July (the day before the trip to the hospital). We have a WONDERFUL neighborhood. They have welcomed us with open arms and we will even be camping at the lake with some of them soon! There are also a few images from my sessions in CO. I had to post an image from each session b/c I know they are all dying to see them. I also have a ton from CO, but those will have to wait. I have a lot on my plate and my personal images always sit until I can find the time to edit them:)!

Again, thank you all for you! Enjoy the images! I have 6 sessions coming up starting tomorrow and then I have tons to post so stay tuned! “K” your senior images are coming and the wedding I did back in June is being processed, as well. Lots of fun stuff ahead!

Here is one of my peeks from CO!!

2 years old!

Check out this cutie pie! She is almost 2 and was so much fun to run around with last week. When we first got to the park she would not leave mom’s side but I decided to play a little game of peek a boo in the weeds and water with her and she warmed up! Once she warmed up to me the rest of the session was so fun. We played in the water, ran over the bridge (a lot) and then we played in the flower garden. The images are amazing. You have to watch the slide show on this one.

Thank you mom and dad for another great session! It was good to see you again. Enjoy your images and slide show HERE!

On a side note, my brother and sister in law welcomed their second little boy (big boy…. almost 11 lbs!!) this morning! I was their to capture the little guy when he was 2 hours old!! I can’t wait to share and I am sure you will see a lot more of him as he grows. I will do a “real” newborn session with him in about a week so stay tuned for some amazing stuff!!

boys

Boys will be boys. That is what they say anyway and I might have to agree to disagree with whoever came up with this phrase. Last Thursday I met up with these three boys on the farm. At first they were a little skeptical of me and my big black camera, but they warmed up after a while. As we walked the farm, sat by barns and silos, jumped in fields, sat on decks, hung our feet in the water, chased geese and ended up on a big blue truck I asked their mom if they were always this good. These three boys were like model students (I used to be a teacher) through the entire session. If I ever go back maybe next time they will get a little crazy. No, I really enjoyed our session. They made my job so easy and I love it when sessions run this smooth (and with three boys!!). The images we captured are amazing and that is what matters!

It was so nice to meet you guys. You were a joy to be around. I want you to come along to all my sessions with kids and show them all how a session should go. I asked mom if she talked to them before the session or fed them something to make them behave the way they did…. I got a smile from her:)!

You were amazing to work with! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for being so good…..
