This little gal is special. She is special b/c her mom and I go way back. All the way back to kindergarten!! I love good friends and I love capturing life for them. These guys live up near Liberty and just welcomed a little girl to their family. She is CUTE, has a FULL head of hair. She was so good too. She never cried. She was the perfect little model and our session lasted 2 hours! She slept the entire time except when her little eye would pop open every now and then and we captured some great shots of her.

Last Sat. I had the opportunity to meet this little gal. She was so tiny and so good (for the most part). We were able to do a lot of shots when I first go there b/c she was asleep. Then she woke up and that was another story. So we used some gas drops to get here to stop crying and they worked! It was so funny. It was like candy. We would take the little dropper and just set it on her lips and she would stare at us and lick her lips and walla I was able to snap a picture! If only you were a fly on the wall during this session. We would position her they way we wanted (she was crying at this time) then we would use the dropper and walla!

I love families who let me try fun stuff with their kiddos and are up for suggestions too! You guys were amazing first time parents. Oh, there is a small story behind these two. “T” e-mailed me b/c she loved my work and wanted me to capture her little one (she doesn’t know who I am at this time). I e-mail her back and then a phone call to talk about our session and I realize she is married to a guy from Great Bend! Yes, this is a small world. His sister and I ran together in high school and were good friends (then went our separate ways in college). He was the baby of the family (they have 5 brothers and sisters) so I didn’t really know him b/c he was 8 years younger than me. Anyway, it’s amazing the people God puts in your life! I am so excited to capture their little gal for her first year. You will see more of her in the months to come.

Last week I went back to my home town to visit and take pictures of a few families and friends. I always take the kids home for the summer for a week so they can spend time with Grandpa and Grandma. Well, this summer we planned our trip around one of my good friends baby being born.

This little gal was born July 16th, so she was brand new and oh how I love them small. She was a little fussy but we worked with her and got some amazing images. Grandma was there (she was like another mom when I was growing up) and she helped out so much. She put all our little props together and was just the best help! If she lived in KC I would hire her to be my assistant at shoots!

I am so thankful for this family and their friendship. They are amazing people and are going to have an amazing little girl. I love you guys! I love that every time we we get together it’s like no time has passed at all. That is what good friends are all about! Thank you for the great morning last weekend.
